Rolls-Royce online assessment
Built by Aon
- Format
- Three assessments inside one Aon chatAssess sitting, sent after the application form (there is no CV): a situational judgement exercise answered as messages to colleagues, a work style questionnaire, and one timed logical puzzle. Rolls-Royce's own guide says the set depends on the programme and that engineering and business routes differ; older guidance listed a six minute numerical test for engineering.
- Timing
- Four days to complete from the invitation (Rolls-Royce's September 2026 application guide), one sitting, one attempt per cycle, and under 45 minutes in all. The situational exercise and questionnaire are untimed; the logical puzzle is six minutes, with an untimed practice task before it. A downloadable report afterwards describes your speed and accuracy against other candidates.
- What is uncertain
- Which six minute puzzle it is: prep sites and most candidate accounts say Aon's switchChallenge, and an applicant in the 2026/27 cycle reported Aon's gapChallenge, the grid with the question mark. Rolls-Royce names neither. Practise both and read the explanation screen before the timer starts, which several candidates say is the thing to do.
- How to practise
- Grid Gap is built on the gapChallenge and Switch on the switchChallenge.
