JP Morgan pymetrics games
Built by pymetrics (Harver)
- Format
- Twelve short behavioural games played in the browser, then a HireVue video interview. The games are Balloons, Keypresses, Digits, Arrows, Lengths, Cards, Towers, two Money Exchange rounds, Easy or Hard, Stop and Faces. Blackstone, Standard Chartered and BCG send the same battery.
- Timing
- About 20 to 25 minutes in total, two minutes or so a game. There is no pass mark: the games produce a trait profile that is matched against the firm's model, and a result is kept for twelve months and shared with any other employer using pymetrics.
- What is uncertain
- Pymetrics publishes the game list but not the traits each game feeds or how the match is scored, so no practice can tell you what a good profile is. What practice does is take the rules of each game off the clock, which is the only part of the score you control.
- How to practise
- Pymetrics-Style Games runs nine of the twelve in one sitting, Faces included, on stock photographs of posed expressions. Balloons is the balloon game on its own, Memory Digits the digit span, Arrow Game the arrows.
