Rolls-Royce business routes online assessment 2027

Provider: Aon

Which programme are you applying to?

Rolls-Royce is reported to change the test by programme. Pick yours and the drills above change to match; the rest of the page is the firm as a whole.

What they send: The situational judgement exercise, the work style questionnaire and the logical puzzle, with no numerical test listed.

Why this programme differs: Rolls-Royce's own guide says engineering and business routes differ, and the numerical test is listed for engineering only, so the business routes come down to judgement and the logical puzzle.

Providers change between cycles and firms rarely publish their tests, so everything here is what candidates report and what the provider documents, in that order of trust. Treat it as where to start, not a promise.

What the test is like

Rolls-Royce online assessment

Built by Aon

Format
Three assessments inside one Aon chatAssess sitting, sent after the application form (there is no CV): a situational judgement exercise answered as messages to colleagues, a work style questionnaire, and one timed logical puzzle. Rolls-Royce's own guide says the set depends on the programme and that engineering and business routes differ; older guidance listed a six minute numerical test for engineering.
Timing
Four days to complete from the invitation (Rolls-Royce's September 2026 application guide), one sitting, one attempt per cycle, and under 45 minutes in all. The situational exercise and questionnaire are untimed; the logical puzzle is six minutes, with an untimed practice task before it. A downloadable report afterwards describes your speed and accuracy against other candidates.
What is uncertain
Which six minute puzzle it is: prep sites and most candidate accounts say Aon's switchChallenge, and an applicant in the 2026/27 cycle reported Aon's gapChallenge, the grid with the question mark. Rolls-Royce names neither. Practise both and read the explanation screen before the timer starts, which several candidates say is the thing to do.
How to practise
Grid Gap is built on the gapChallenge and Switch on the switchChallenge.
